2013_Holiday (Speyer_Sinsheim_Ingolstadt-Manching)

Shots taken during a short holiday break (with main purpose to attend the WTD61's Phantom's final "official" flight before decomissioning at Manching (ETSI)). We made a stopover at Speyer, and also passed by at the museum of Sinsheim on our way to Manching. On our return trip, we passed by at Neuburg and Donauwörth and made a stopover at Ramstein. Some photos from Manching are displayed here, the rest can be seen at http://www.waltervanbelphotography.be/Aviation/Special-Events/Trip-to-ManchingWTD61-Phly-out/30788746_7MFFH5#!i=2664860821&k=fPTz2zh

  • Our first stop in Germany was at the "Europabrug" (crossing the river "Moesel"). The Moselle Viaduct (German: Moseltalbrücke) carries the Bundesautobahn 61 over a meander of the river Moselle, connecting the Hunsrück and Eifel mountain ranges. It was built between 1969 and 1972 between the German villages Winningen and Dieblich, about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) southwest of Koblenz, where the river Moselle flows into the river Rhine.
