20120604-20120605_Spottersday_Wittmund & visit "Jever-dump"

After booking-in in the Hotel, I paid a quick visit to the "dump" at Jever Air Base. The next day, we visited Wittmund Air Base for the 2012-spottersday, where 12 operational F-4F Phantom II's were ideally positioned before their HAS. The next day, we spend some hours - in the rain - at the fence of Wittmund Air Base.

    It was a long, cold and wet wait...but finaly this F-4F Phantom II from JG71 returned from a training mission and is here seen on final for RWY08 at Wittmund. It wears a special c/s to celebrate the last German Air Force F-4F Phantom II that received depot level inspection at the aircraft maintenance facility at Jever. The special c/s also remembers the 45th anniversary of the Luftwaffeninstandhaltungsgruppe 21 (LIG).
