  • Swiss Cougar (T-341, cn 2559/MIS026) returning to the drop-off zone with an emptied "Bambi"-bucket, after a practise display at Axalp. Beautiful backdrop, as usual in Switserland (autumn colors of the trees lit by the afternoon sun and the rigid rocky mountain in the background).

  • Thanks to the pilots of this Swiss Air Force Cougar (T-341, cn 2559/MIS026) for performing a very private show - we were just with 2 people (my wife and myself) - at one of the gates of Meiringen Air Base, just after they had offloaded their underslung load! Just after their colleagues in T-332 had "distributed" the grass that only very recently had been mowed, this one could apparantly also not resist ;-)

The special mirrors in the front are used to control the underslung loads (Axalp demo). The recently mowed grass is flying in all directions...

  • Aerial view on Meiringen AFB (picture taken from nearby "Rothorn" mountain at 2350m altitude) with beautiful autumn colors. You can clearly understand why they called this mountain (the one in the sun) "Rothorn" (some of the trees have a wonderfull brown-red color, this time of the year)! On the runway are three F-5E's (two from Patrouille Swiss and one in standard grey paint) having just started their take-off roll. The two taxiways leading to the famous shelters (i.e. caverns in the mountain) are also visible.
